A neighborhood favorite for quality breakfast, lunch & dinner – All Year Long!

About Us

What Makes Heeter’s Drive-In a Neighborhood Favorite?

At Heeter’s Drive-In, we believe quality food and strong community go hand in hand.

Family-owned and proudly rooted in Danville by the Susquehanna River, Heeter’s has always been more than just a place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It’s a gathering spot. A place where neighbors run into neighbors, families celebrate milestones, regulars are known by name, and first-time visitors quickly feel at home.

Quality isn’t a marketing phrase for us – it’s our promise.

We believe great food starts with better ingredients, careful preparation, and a refusal to take shortcuts. From made-to-order breakfasts to hearty lunches and dinners, every item is prepared with intention and pride. With our grill in full view, there are no shortcuts – just honest preparation and a commitment to consistency, flavor, and real quality you can taste.

We believe in giving back to the people who support us. Through community partnerships, local events, charitable initiatives, and family-focused activities, we strive to make a positive impact beyond our doors. Supporting neighbors, encouraging local involvement, and creating moments that bring people together are all part of who we are. At Heeter’s, we are committed to serving more than meals – we’re serving our community.

Heeter’s Drive-In is built on family values, hard work, and genuine gratitude for this community. Every day, we show up ready to serve food we’re proud of and to create an experience people can count on.

Because at Heeter’s, you’re not just a customer.

You’re part of the neighborhood.

The History of Heeter’s

Originally owned by the Dowling family, the business changed hands in 1963 when Stuart L. and Barbara Hartman purchased it. In 1968, Gene and Marian Rothermel acquired the well-known “Twin Kiss,” proudly serving the community for the next 20 years. Lou Pippon became owner in 1988, continuing its legacy as a local favorite.

We acquired the property in 2003 with a vision to honor its history while thoughtfully moving it forward. While preserving elements that give Heeter’s its character, we began evolving the space beyond its original 1950s identity.

Today, Heeter’s reflects a modern diner experience – refreshed space, expanded offerings, and a continued focus on high-quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From classic cream ice cream treats to carefully selected beverages, everything we serve is prepared with intention and care.

We Thank You!

As owners of Heeter’s Drive-In, we don’t take your support for granted. This restaurant has been part of the community for generations, and it’s a privilege for our family to continue that tradition.

We are committed to serving food we believe in, in a place where people feel comfortable gathering and connecting. Your loyalty and encouragement mean more than you know.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting our family-owned local business.
